I must admit it has been a few years now since I was last at Fontanafredda - but it has been a pleasure to see and taste the development in both the brand direction and quality of wines being crafted by Danilo and his team. Moscato d'Asti is justifiably having a renaissance, with these approachable, vibrantly lively and refreshing wines being enjoyed by the next generation of wine enthusiasts.

This range of vibrant and dynamic varietal wines, were crafted to pay tribute to Yarra Valley’s very own opera diva, Dame Nellie Melba, who enchanted the world as Mimi in the opera ‘La Bohème’ - based in the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1880’s. The Yarra Valley has a rich history of quality wine production dating over 150 years. When you think of Australia, you think summer and those ancient terra-rossa soils.

Zephyr wines embrace the dynamic spirit of the Glover family and the lively aromatics of their estate vineyards. The Glover family vineyards, were planted in 1985 alongside the meandering 'Opawa River', which has inspired the family’s passion for wine. Their viticultural and winemaking philosophy's embrace the strengths of their vineyards. Their wines showcasing classic cool climate character, along with palate depth and texture.

Allan has some 40 years experience in the local wine industry, making him one of the most knowledgeable people in Marlborough (and the country) when it comes to growing, crafting and selling wine in local and international markets. When Allan and his wife Catherine decided to settle in the region back in 1973, - Allan took up a job working in a recently purchased farm, which was soon to be planted vineyards.
