Grape Varietal: 100% Shiraz
Growing Region: Barossa Valley, South Australia
Chief Winemaker: Stuart Blackwell

St Hallett was established by the Lindner family back in 1944 - and along with other established Barossa winery families, they understood early on the importance of saving the old vines and focusing on the key varietals for the Barossa region - and in particular Shiraz. Strong long-term relationships with dedicated grape growers give St Hallett access to some of the Barossa’s most prized vineyards, with some dating back over 100 years.

Over time the winemaking team led by Stuart Blackwell and Toby Barlow with their experience, have built up a deep understanding of the rich tapestry of the Barossa terroir, allowing them to craft some of Australia’s classic red wines.
This is the Shiraz which typically starts it all for many St Hallett wine lovers. An approachable, generous, fruit driven, early drinking style red wine.
The fruit for this ‘Faith’ Shiraz was sourced from a number of selected vineyards across the south and central Barossa Valley. With a range of aged vines grown on the local terra rossa red-brown loam which rests on shale and red clay, providing a cross section of flavour profiles from the different terroirs.
As the fruit parcels were harvested and brought to the winery, they were immediately crushed into separate stainless steel fermenters and inoculated with a neutral yeast strain. After minimal intervention and respectful vinification. The wine underwent maturation in a combination of new, one, two and three-year-old French and American oak barrels for 12-16 months before final tasting, blending and bottling.
This 2015 St Hallett ‘Faith’ Shiraz showcases aromas of wild berries, a hint of dark chocolate and inviting spice notes. The palate is medium-bodied, delivering ample blackberry and mulberry fruit flavours running through the mid-palate entwined with those spices and a seam of dark chocolate. This wine has a good honest structure and character, with nicely entwined toasty vanilla oak notes and the fine-grained tannins resulting in an approachable, smooth dry style and a pleasing finish.
This 2015 St Hallett Barossa ‘Faith’ Shiraz has 14% Alc. Decanter for 25-30 minutes and serve in a generous shaped glass at 16-18°C.

A Barossa classic, one of Australia’s most loved and reliable reds.
